Choosing a paramedical college is a two-year (or longer) commitment of money and time, and marketing copy alone won’t tell you whether an institute delivers. Use this checklist of 10 questions before you sign up anywhere — it’s built on the same criteria we use in our own college ranking methodology, so you can apply it to any institute you’re considering, including this one.
1. Is the Institute’s Affiliation Verifiable?
Ask exactly which body affiliates the institute — BSS, SMFWB, or a UGC-recognised university — and confirm it independently rather than taking the institute’s word for it. Affiliation determines whether your qualification is recognised nationally or only locally.
2. Can They Give You a Full Written Fee Breakdown?
Ask for every cost in writing: tuition, exam fees, lab/uniform charges, and any other fees. A reputable institute should hand this over without hesitation, with no vague “approximate” figures.
3. Do They Have Named Hospital Partners?
Ask for specific hospital or diagnostic-centre names, not vague references to “industry connections.” A real partnership means guaranteed clinical exposure during training, not an aspiration.
4. Can They Show Real Placement Outcomes?
Ask for specific past graduate outcomes — named employers, typical starting roles — rather than accepting a generic “100% placement” claim at face value. Confident, honest institutes can point to real examples.
5. What’s the Batch Size in Practical Labs?
Smaller batches mean more individual hands-on time with equipment, which directly affects how prepared you are on day one of a real job. Ask specifically about lab batch sizes, not just total enrolment.
6. Is There an Entrance Exam, or Is It Direct Admission?
Confirm the admission process upfront — some institutes are BSS-affiliated with direct, exam-free admission; others require a state-level entrance exam like SMFWBEE. Know which route you’re signing up for.
7. What Does the Instalment or EMI Plan Actually Look Like?
Get the exact payment schedule in writing — how much at admission, how much monthly, over what period — and ask if an EMI facility exists for a different repayment structure.
8. Who Are the Faculty, and What’s Their Clinical Background?
Ask whether instructors have real hospital or clinical experience in the subject they teach, not just academic credentials. Faculty with genuine field experience generally means more practically useful teaching.
9. What Happens If You Miss a Payment or Need to Pause?
Ask about the institute’s policy on missed payments, breaks in study, or withdrawal before you enrol — not after you’re already committed.
10. Can You Talk to a Current Student or Recent Graduate?
A confident institute should be willing to connect you with someone who’s actually been through the programme. If they can’t or won’t, treat that as a signal.
How We Apply This Checklist Ourselves
We built this list directly from the criteria in our own ranking methodology, and we encourage you to apply every one of these questions to GK Institute of Healthcare and Skill Development as rigorously as you would to any other institute — verify our BSS affiliation, ask for our fee breakdown, and confirm our named hospital partners including AMRI Hospitals, Fortis Hospital, and Peerless Hospital directly.
